Name: Mellowpaw (Mellowsoul)
Gender: Male
Age: 5 moons
Rank: Apprentice
Clan: WindClan
Picture: www.cutelittlekittens.com/files/images/general/damien_stephie_kittens_024_345.jpg
Notable Kin: Whisperstar (aunt, WindClan leader) Chittervoice (father, rouge)
Short Description A brown tabby tom with white paws
In-Depth Description: His coat color is very much inherited from his father, brown tabby, though his dark stripes seem to come from his aunt and his mother. Mellowpaw is small, with claws that are disappointingly blunt, which makes it hard for him to fight or climb. This handicap is made up for with his eyes, which move fast and see almost everything. White fur covers his belly and paws, attributes he surely gained from Whisperstar.
Personality: Quiet and shy, many misinterpret these qualities for weakness, when in fact they are a different kind of strength. Young for an apprentice, he is angered by his aunt. Though she took him in, she seems wary of him and tries to force him into Clan roles that keep him under some cat’s watch. Because of this treatment, he is the most frequent escapee from the camp and brings more trouble than a badger in a nursery. He has a particular dislike for kits and queens, perhaps stemmed from his mother’s and brother’s absence in his own life.
History: Two kits were born, one night, given Clan names. The first was Birchkit, a strong she-cat, while the other was a scrawny tom named Mellowkit. Chittervoice, already with distinct plans for his kits, chased their kittypet mother away from them except when they needed to nurse. As soon as they were weaned, he took them from Twolegplace and deposited Birchkit near the ThunderClan camp, and Mellowkit he brought to a confrontation with his sister. He brought up the most painful memories he could conjure, until she agreed to take in her kin. He now is in the Clan, the youngest apprentice with no mentor.
RP Sample:
“Mellowpaw!” His leader’s voice, made strong with authority, caused the tom pause as he turned to face her. He saw her eyes narrow. “Why are you bringing crowfood to the elders?” Indeed, a half-eaten rabbit obviously killed by a bird of prey sat at the apprentice’s paws. He knew he would be punished away, and kept his sour thoughts of the useless elders to himself.
“Take that outside of camp and bury it,” Whisperstar told him, flicking her tail angrily. “You’ll be hunting for the elder’s tomorrow, until they are full. Then you shall check them for ticks and clean their bedding. Bring them moss, too, so they won’t be thirsty.”
“Yes Whisperstar,” her kin managed, picking up the rabbit and leaving, despite his wishes to tell her how useless the elder’s were, and how hard it was for him to hunt. The WindClan leader shook her head, feeling quite defeated. He needed a mentor, someone who would whip him into shape. Nevertheless she knew, in her heart of hearts, he would never be a good warrior. Slowly, her eyes scanned Silentnight’s den. Yes…that was it.
