Frostpool bustled about the den, trying to find something - anything, that might heal Darlingpaw from the shock. The warriors, she knew, have given the apprentice to her too late. She padded back to the apprentice who was lying on the cave floor, and sighed when she saw her take her dying breath. What had gone wrong? She hadn't been there when Darlingpaw had gone into shock, so she didn't know what had happened. Narrowing her cold golden optics, Frostpool sat down and pressed her nose into the apprentice's fur, giving a brief vigil to the once energetic calico she-cat. May she now rest peacefully with the ranks of StarClan... she prayed, then lifted her head arupbtly and padded towards the entrance, preparing to tell her clan that they have, now, lost an apprentice. She wondered if the death had been unnescary. She prayed not, for no cat deserved to die an unnessary death.

Truthkit sat outside the Medicine cat den. She just stared at her tortieshell paws. The kit recounted waking up and seeing her mother, Darlingpaw, convulse. It was terrifying. Her blue eyes looked up to see Frostpool. She jumped to her paws. "Is she better? Can I see her now?" The kit was already almost in the den if not for the Medicine cat blocking the way.

Frostpool stared down at the kit, her deep golden eyes holding no sympathy for the small kit. She dreaded telling her, dreaded telling anyone when one of ShadowClan's clan mates have died. But it was apart of her duty and no matter how much it might break the little kit's heart, she had to tell her. "I am sorry little one." she mewed curtly. "But your mother has joined the ranks of StarClan now." her eyes narrowed. She knew what it was like to not have a mother, nor a father. Her parents had died when she had been just a kit, just like this one had lost her mother. She would learn to deal with it, just like she had done. Frostpool looked down at the kit and waited, dreadfully, for a reaction, whether it be shock, sadness, or anger. Frostpool was accustomed to either one.

(Truth always tells the truth. lol)
"Why must you be so cold-hearted?" Truthkit stared into the she-cat's eyes. They was no emotion there. "I'm alone. My father is dead, my sissy is missing, and my mother is dead." The kit sild into the den-past the Medicine cat. She padded close to her mother and whispered something quietly into her mother's ear. "I love you." Then she gave the corpse a lick of the head and went back toward the entrance. Her gait was took in slow strides as she thought through all that had happened. Truthkit looked at Frostpool. "I'm gonna sit for my momma's vigil. I don't care if I'm a kit, you'd better let me do it." Her words were cold and spoke the truth.
